Liked it so much, ordered another!

Franklin did a fantastic job engineering the 16mm Dynasty. I really appreciate the control and power of the paddle. The sweet spot spans throughout the entire paddle head. It does not twist when the ball contacts hard. Handles very good in dinking situations and fast rallies. Several opponents are impressed with the power as well. The only change I made was removing the grip tape and replacing it with two layers of Wilson brand over grip tape. I found the original grip too plush.

Great Paddle

As an advanced beginner, I enjoy this paddle's capacity to match my needs as I continue to improve.

Handle not straight but plays good.

Oddly the head is angled slightly. So depending which way you hold it head is either slightly leaned forward or backward. It's not that the paddle face has a curve - it's the grip thats not level with the face.Looked at one in Dicks sports after I bought this one and it was the same way.Plays good though.

Awesome Paddle

My new favorite paddle! I’ve used Selkirk, Gamma, Encore as well as others. This paddle has the right amount of power and control for me. Love it, even bought another for a spare.

I like it

It’s a great paddle. Lots of spin and decent amount of power. I got the tempo and dynasty 16mm’s. They are both great.

VERY Heavy paddle

It looks like a very fine paddle, and I didn't play with it at all. The reason is that as soon as I held it, I knew it was very heavy. I weighed it on my food scale, and it was 10oz! I think it was advertised at 8 to 8.5oz. It is just too heavy for quick responses and could cause tennis elbow at this weight, so I returned it without playing it.

Franklin dynasty 16

Just bought the dynasty 16 used for one week. Started to notice that you can see the inner honey comb shape of paddle. The surface seems to wear out faster. Is this a defect?

A Waste of Money

I'm pretty disappointed in this paddle. I bought it in June 2024 and used it 4 months. I just played with it last week (March 2025) the first time since last Fall and it already has a dead spot.....shopping again, for a different brand.UPDATE Franklin is replacing the paddle

Sadly, it just didn't work out for me ...

First, let say the FS Tour Tempo 14 mm I got from Amazon is a quality paddle. Good power, pop and control ... sort of a Goldilocks paddle. I so wanted to love it. But I didn't, and returned it after several games. For a standard shaped paddle the Tempo 14 mm has a very high swing weight. Throw in a little perimeter weighting to help with balance and power then you have a paddle that is heavier than nearly all standard shaped paddles on the market. This ruins maneuverability and hand speed at the kitchen line. The Tempo also has an interesting contoured grip. It feels great when just holding the paddle. But during play it felt too thick, and the contouring prevents you from easily shifting your grip while playing. Kudos for Franklin for being creative but unfortunately it just didn't work for me.Bottom line: I am sure many people will love this excellent paddle. I just wish I did.

Performance and Quality

I’m a huge fan of the Franklin brand paddles. I own a few and rotate them. I’ve tried other brands including Joola, Gearbox, and Padeltek but the Franklins just feel the best for me. The 14mm is light and the long handle of the tour dynasty allows me to use my two hand backhand. This paddle allows me to direct the ball where I want. Franklin also has great customer service so if you have any concerns they will help you out.

Perfect paddle

Love it! Perfect for my style of play and considered it all court paddle. Complete total package paddle; with power and spin at baseline, good to reset and control at transition zone and very maneuverable at the kitchen.

It’s Gas

I’ve used every paddle from every brand basically. Selkirk Labs, Selkirk, Joola Gen3, Engage, Paddletek, etc. for the price of this paddle, with the extra goodies you get, this thing is straight gas. Perfect amount of control and power. People giggle when they see a Franklin paddle but they stop giggling quick when they get pickled. Durability has been good.Only thing about this paddle is its head heavy so if you’re sensitive to that type of thing you might wanna look at their other shape.

Worth every penny

I’ve tried a lot of Paddles and this one is by far the best - It’s great for every aspect of the game - it gave me so much more control than anything I’ve used - I will be using Franklin paddles from now one - the thing I like most is most of the weight is by the handle of and it’s the first paddle that I didn’t regrip or put weights - it’s perfect right out of the wrapper

Underrated paddle

All the paddle reviewers say this paddle is heavy and I've never seen one of these in the wild. I noticed that JW Johnson uses this paddle and he is considered to have the fastest hands in pro pickleball. So when this paddle went on sale I wanted to try it - if JW can have the fastest hands in pickleball while using this 'heavy' paddle then I figured maybe the reviewers were missing something with this paddle. IMO hand speed is as much about setting up the point and anticipation as it is raw paddle speed. After a few sessions I have gotten used to the weight and come to really like this paddle. The added weight makes this paddle very stable - I feel very confident handling hard drives with this paddle. I wouldn't say this paddle has a lot of pop. Spin and power are good. I would say the strength of this paddle is it's stability and forgiveness. If you're not afraid of a heavier paddle and don't want to spend $250 or more on a paddle that won't last I'd recommend trying this paddle.
